Exams Information

External and internal exams are held throughout the school year. All aspects of external exams for Years 10, 11, 12 and 13 are managed by the Exams Office. Contact Mrs Ann Bijkerk or Mrs Rachael Peet for any exam-related query, by emailing examinations@marling.school or by telephoning the school.

An Examinations Guide for Students and Parents 2025-26 can be found below, as can a list of exam boards and codes for each subject, as well as GCSE and A Level/AS Level timetables for summer 2026.

The following links are for students taking any external exams, coursework, non-examination assessments or controlled assessments this year. They are published by the Joint Council for Qualifications and the school and students must comply with their instructions. The notices explain how you should behave before, during and after written exams, your conduct on using social media and examinations/assessments, and the rules around the production of coursework, controlled assessments and non-examined assessments.

The 24th June, 2026 is a contingency day within the Summer 2026 exam season. Students should be available on this date even if they do not have an exam. Contingency dates are created to be used in the event of national or significant local disruption to exams in the United Kingdom, being part of the awarding bodies’ standard contingency planning.

Exam Certificates 2025

For students who stayed on at Marling in Year 12/13, certificates will be distributed in school.

For those students no longer at Marling, certificates will be available to collect from the Music Hall between 6.15pm and 8pm on Tuesday 16th December for A Level certificates and Thursday 15th January for GCSE. Parking on the Downfield Road site is limited, but available.  Students will need to bring photo ID.

If you are unable to collect your certificates in person, you can nominate someone to collect them on your behalf.  Please send an email to examinations@marling.school giving the name of the nominated person.  They will be required to provide photo ID before the certificates will be released to them.

Please be aware that future employers/educational establishments will ask to see original copies of all certificates.  The exam boards charge approximately £50 each for replacements. Marling is only required to hold on to certificates for a year.

If you need to collect certificates at a different time, please email examinations@marling.school to make arrangements.
