King of the Pitch!
Many congratulations to former Marling School student Tom King. Tom's been selected to play for the England under-18s football squad. Tom, who's 17, will play in the upcoming World Cup warm-up tournament in Marbella, Spain.
Earlier this season and at the age of 16, Tom was the youngest player in the club to play in a League One professional match for Cheltenham Town FC.
Mark Nicholson, Head of Physical Education at Marling School, says; “We’re very proud of all Tom’s achievements and being selected for the England U18 Football squad. It’s been a pleasure and a privilege to have seen Tom play for Marling School through school life and show off his exceptional talent. Tom’s success is just reward for all the hard work and training over the years. We wish Tom well and hope to add his shirt to those of previous students.”
